UMIL Hotels is a part of the Ahmedabad based Unique Mercantile India Group, founded & established in 1996 by Mr Rajkumar Rai, its current Chairman & Managing Director. Currently into diversified business segments, namely hospitality, real estate, vacations & insurance. Mr. Rai, prior to founding the Unique group, has held various positions of repute in a career spanning 22 years. Having worked closely in the insurance sector, and with a vision to exploit the business opportunity of group insurance in the rural market, he established Unique Mercantile in 1996 , currently one of the largest distributors of insurance products in India. Diversifying into the vacation segment with Unique Vacations in 2000 with a subscription model which offers vacations across 150+ countries in over 1000+ hotels & resorts, the group moved into direct ownership & management of hotel properties with UMIL Hotels in 2012. Under its real estate segment, the Unique Mercantile India group has been primarily present in infrastructure development schemes in Gujarat, Telengana & Maharashtra.

50 Hotels, 4000 Keys by 2025
We are growing at a rapid pace by launching renowned global brands such as Howard Johnson and Ramada by Wyndham Worldwide along with our own Renest brand. We aim to develop 50 hotels, totalling 4000 keys across major destinations in India by 2025, in the mid-market segment.
